Patronage create anyway.

Artists in Aotearoa can't find paid opportunities. The ones that exist are scattered across inboxes, word of mouth, and platforms that charge artists for the privilege of applying. On the other side, the organisations that want to commission art have no infrastructure to source artists, deliver projects, or measure outcomes. They rely on consultants, personal networks, or nothing at all.

Patronage is the missing layer between them. It is the only opportunity aggregator for the arts in Aotearoa, and the only platform that handles the full pipeline: sourcing, commissioning, delivery, and reporting in one system. For artists, it's a free directory and portfolio. For organisations, it's the infrastructure they've never had.

I'm building Patronage solo as a technical founder, designing and engineering the entire platform from the ground up. The vision is a system where every arts opportunity in the country is visible, every artist is findable, and the data that emerges from connecting them becomes the foundation for a fairer, more transparent arts economy.

Patronage has been recognised by Manatū Taonga (Ministry for Culture and Heritage) for its ability to capture data on a sector that has never had it, and has been added to Creative New Zealand's regional partner network. The platform is operational, with active commissioning partnerships and a growing artist base across the country.
